Item Description
A Wedgwood, late creamware, dinner plate decorated with birds and a butterfly. This is marked ”WEDGWOOD” and it is also impressed with the letters ”SOA” above a letter “T”. The plate is potted in a heavy creamware, which is known as late creamware, as the body is quite different to the early, lightly potted creamware of the 18th century. It is decorated with an outline transfer print in dark red which is then hand coloured with bright, polychrome enamels. It is in excellent condition.
