Mid Century Richard Hornby  Heal’s Afromisa Desk Dressing Table

An elegant piece of Richard Hornby designed furniture. This one is Afromosia and comes with its “Supplied by Heal’s” label, a little faded, to the smaller top drawer. This one may have been a dressing table in its time and would fit smoothly into modern and period settings.

The design is very much of its time – gone are the curls and swirls of Art Deco, with this piece we have an angled disciplined form, straight edges and hidden drawer openings keeping it totally stream lined – all well thought about by Hornby…

Workshop report – The desk sits firm with no wobbles. The Afromosia is good in tone with some age marks to the top. The drawers are neat, running as they should and only lightly marked inside. The frame possesses the odd mark or two but nothing particularly nasty or off putting, smells fine. We have ensured the piece is ready to place after a session in the workshop.

When purchasing from us we include delivery in the purchase price which is based on a one person delivery for England and Wales. Please call or email for quotes to Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Isles and for World-wide shipping. 

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item.  If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
