A superb decorative Chinese Porcelain Fish Bowl Jardinière Planter, rarely seen in this scale, this large 32″ diameter example makes for an unique and imposing statement piece. Finely decorated in a vibrant colourway, the white ceramic ground hosts a bountiful bright orange and gold palette which reflects the light beautifully.
Believed to be early part of the 20th Century, circa 1940, the piece is in excellent original condition displaying a desirable aged patina but retaining its vibrancy. This is a delightful decorative fish bowl with fine foliate décor to the exterior, the interior presents koi fish swimming amongst seaweed. The bowl has a wide rim accentuated with pattern and edged with a gold/gilt rim.
This is a fascinating piece with a distinctive opulent charm, perfect in a large room or as a central statement piece. The item is cleanly polished and ready for installation.
