Item Description
A stunning early 20th-century Smith Astral fusee wall clock, originally designed for use in railway waiting rooms, boardrooms, or commercial spaces.
Dating from around 1900–1910, this impressive piece features a fusee movement that has been fully restored, including a new pendulum, and professionally serviced just two years ago.
This particular example includes an unusual added weight within the fusee system, specifically designed to counterbalance the oversized clock hands — a rare and clever adjustment reflecting the scale and purpose of the clock.
The clock retains all of its original components, including the wooden pegs, copper bezel, and original glass, showing that it’s been carefully maintained throughout its life with no unnecessary alterations.
Marked Smith Astral, Coventry on the dial, a respected name in British horology.Includes brand new winding key. A remarkable and fully functional statement piece — ideal for collectors or those seeking an authentic period feature for a large space.
Measurements: 58cm Wide x 58cm Tall x 18cm Deep
