Item Description
An unusual, scratch-built rustic writing bureau, circa early 1900s.
It has two low shelves with 4 drawers above – two large central drawers with painted brass cup handles and two small sundry drawers either side of them with original Bakelite knobs, all in a perfectly worn dark green.
The interior of the bureau has a half depth shelf currently with two pull out dividers creating cubby holes for filing, but with space for up to 10 to be added, it has a rich almost oxblood finish.
Beautiful in its simplicity, with lashings of rustic appeal.
A very versatile and usable piece of furniture.
