Item Description

Early 20th Century Double Sided Clock Makers Trade Sign

A working example of an early 20th Century double sided clock makers trade sign clock. This item would have originally hung outside a shop with static hands on both sides. We have updated this feature and used a battery operated single sided clock mechanism to allow it to tell the time on one side only. The oversized clock weighs roughly 15kg and would have originally hung from the top loop which is exposed. This clock can be removed from its bespoke hand-crafted cast iron display mount. Both glass facias can be opened to gain access to the inside workings. There are still some remnants of the original green and black paint across this example, however, most has been removed due to it being kept outside for most of its life, The clock is made from zinc metal.

Dimensions in inches: H 32” x W 22” x D 8”
Age: Early 20th Century
Origin: EU
Condition: Good

This item shows natural wear and aging through obvious use and being kept outside for all its life. With a natural patination across its surface, over years of use this item has incurred loss of most of its paint, rust to exposed metal sections and light dents and dinks. The weight of the clock and stand combined weighs close to 25kg which is reflected in the shipping costs, both sections can be separated.

We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase. A direct message usually takes 24 hours to answer.

For multiple years we have sold antique items globally, please expect our items to show relevant age and natural wear, Items only restored due to breaks and major loss, and we always stipulate this in our condition report.
