Item Description
An eighteenth century, creamware jelly mould with a corn on the cob to the base. This is English, it is very lightly potted and it dates from c.1780. The design is deeply moulded, with good detail, and to the rim is a simple scalloped border. There is marking to the underside of the mould but this is from the manufacture, where the mould has touched on a shelf in the kiln, and there is also some kiln grit in the glaze. There are also two very small chips to the rim.
