Item Description
Every picture tells a story! This is a wonderful quality four door breakfront bookcase, with serpentine base, pedimented swan neck cornice and beautiful ribbon shaped astragal glazed doors. Made by top makers Titchmarsh & Goodwin, I’ve been in touch with the factory and they tell me that they haven’t made one of these bookcases for quite a while! However, they did tell me to make one today, the cost would be between £30,000 - £35,000, taking between 350 and 400 hours to make! It was made in the 1980’s/ 90s, made in burr yew, with satinwood, boxwood and ebony stringing and having very fine cast brass swan neck handles. It is fantastic quality, with all the locks stamped ‘T&G Ipswich’.
