Item Description
A fine 19th Century English Regency style circular tilt-top breakfast table.
In richly figured mahogany, mid-19th Century. The circular top, veneered in beautifully book-matched flame mahogany, tilts vertically on its locking mechanism. It is raised on a turned pedestal issuing four sabre legs, each terminating in finely cast brass lion-paw caps with concealed casters.
Elegant in proportion and practical in design, the table comfortably seats four to six and exemplifies the enduring influence of Regency design during the Victorian period [c. 1840-1865]
