A charming boxed set of six 20th Century French faience dessert or side plates by Sarreguemines.
Each decorated in sepia transfer print with humorous cycling scenes and French captions. The plates depict fashionable cyclists and tandem riders in a series of narrative vignettes. Retaining the original round presentation box and bearing the Sarreguemines France mark to the reverse. A wonderfully evocative Belle Époque Revival set celebrating the early popularity of cycling in France.
