Item Description

An unusual & interesting English late 19th century Country made Gardeners Dibber. Naturalistic cranked Ash wood handle with a fixed Wrought Iron tip. The overall height is 16 inches or 41 centimetres. The head width is 2.5 inches or 5.5 centimetres. The original gardeners initials C.W are heat branded into the handle, a bonus if your initials are C.W! The depth of patina to the handle is simply superb. A wonderfully tactile old gardening tool, which could still be used today or just displayed as a curiosity. This Dibber would make a highly unusual gift for a keen gardener or just a nice treat for yourself. When this tool started life in the late 19th century it was just an everyday working item, so as such does have general historic use marks, knocks & wear etc. It has been in a private collection for many years.
