Item Description
Soviet Union Era Hand Embroidery Picture. Dimensions 18" x 14". Pencil date mark to the back of the frame boarding March 1947 which would tie in with the style of the embroidery. It was framed by an Art Dealer in Dundee with their paper label to the lower back. A rare item to find in the UK especially given its age. Unfortunately we know nothing about its history, how it came to be in the UK or the artist who created it. We have not opened the frame up to look at the back of the canvas itself, there may be information or perhaps even a name on the back? A rare & fascinating piece of wall art. In very good condition.
