A wonderful French antique textile

This is an antique French country linen or possibly hemp sheet which dates to the 1800s. It was woven on a narrow 19th century loom and is joined at the centre by a hand stitched seam as was traditional.
It has simple hand turned hems and a really beautiful monogram of the letters CR set to one side of the seam. A traditional and charming piece of French textile history; these are really a privilege to own and use.
Used but with no thinning, damage or wear. Freshly laundered and ready for use. A couple of small marks as shown.
Colour is a creamy white with warmer beige tones; character you'll never find in a modern, machine made piece.
So useful to have in the cupboard - a great bed cover, tablecloth, sofa throw, curtain.
