Item Description
This is a length of early 20th century machine woven pure hemp fabric. It was woven as sheeting material and would have been cut to length and joined to make a double sheet. This piece is just over six metres long.
It is very tightly woven fabric but not too heavy/thick. I like to use it for all sorts of interiors/soft furnishing projects, it adds such character to a space. Although this has been stored for 100 or so years it is predominantly clean and sections could be used without washing. Or soak and wash to soften and lighten the colour.
As you can see, the outside fold has dirty marks on it; this is to be expected and they should be dealt with as the fabric is soaked and washed before use.
This bolt is 110 cm (43 inches) wide. If you need a large quantity please contact me as I have plenty on the shelves.
