Item Description
Excellent quality unused vintage French linen metis sheet with a hand stitched monogram of the letters AB set in one corner. These vintage pieces are so much better than any modern equivalent, they will last for years. This piece is particularly nice, it has a good "lineny" feel and is tightly woven but not coarse or too heavy.
Linen metis is a linen weft and cotton warp and has been very popular with French housewives down the generations. Less expensive than pure linen but still smooth cool and long lasting. The "fleur bleue" trade mark is stamped along the selvedge which is a sign of quality (and that it hasn't been used as it will wash out.)
Great fabric for upholstery projects or curtains, blinds etc. (I have many similar in stock if you need more.)
Unused, unbleached, never laundered "dead stock" which will need a soak and a few washes to fully soften up but will give you masses of good fabric for your bed or your projects. Colour is a pale sandy cream which will lighten with washing. Don't worry, I will send washing instructions with purchase.
