Item Description
This is a totally unused, never laundered length of "dead stock" vintage French linen sheeting fabric. Cut from the bolt back in the mid 1900s but never put to use, it is exactly as it came from the shop. It's sad that this has never been used but now is its chance, this is great fabric for all manner of interiors projects, sturdy for upholstery but with some give too. Can of course be used as bedding, it's just much more densely woven than any modern sheeting fabric. I have many similar pieces in stock; please contact me if you have a project in the pipeline.
Colour is a pale creamy beige which will lighten as the dust is soaked out. Well stored with few marks, this was a nice find.
Linen metis is a linen weft and cotton warp and has been very popular with French housewives down the generations. Less expensive than pure linen and a little easier to manage but still smooth cool and long lasting. The fabric is sturdy and tightly woven but once laundered gains a soft "lineny" feel. Great fabric for upholstery projects or curtains, blinds etc. (I have many in stock if you need more!)
Should be soaked and washed before use. Don't worry, I will send washing instructions with purchase.
No damage or wear, some light marks as you would expect.
Please add £8 for UK postage or contact me for overseas shipping costs.
