Item Description
For me there's nothing quite like the glamour and luxurious feel of antique French linen damask. This is a set of four fine pure linen hand stitched monogrammed napkins featuring the letters TM set within the central cartouche. The damask pattern is lovely and I think I've managed to capture some of the details in the photos; it's not easy.
These are an incredibly generous size as they date from a time when you could not wash your clothes - and food spilt on a beautiful silk dress or fine wool waistcoat was a bit of a disaster! Total luxury for your dining table or great used as guest/cloakroom towels.
Freshly laundered and ready for use. One has a couple of pale lemony coloured marks which I've tried (and I think failed) to photograph; they are quite pale. One has a dot hole as shown. These are over 100 years old so that's not bad going.
