Item Description
A super quality, 18th century, Wedgwood creamware mould. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1780. It is also impressed with a large letter “V” which is a workman’s mark. The design consist of a central flower which is surrounded by a beaded border and a band of laurel and classical scrolls. It is a delightful design which is very deeply moulded and beautifully detailed. There are a couple of very tiny glaze chips to high points within the mould and there is a firing mark around the beaded border. This is where the clay has opened slightly in the firing due to the thickness of the pot at this point.
Dimensions: Diameter: 12.2cm. Depth 3cm.
