Item Description
A nineteenth century, French copper turbotiere. This is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1860. The pan has castellated seams around the base, and up one end, and it has the typical, French form of brass handles to either end. It is stamped with a number “50” which relates to the internal length in centimetres. The lid has a simple form of brass handle which is attached by raised rivets. The turbotiere is complete with a copper drainer and the interior has been fully re-tinned so that it can be used. The pan is in very good condition but the lid is showing a lot of pitting, from use.
