Item Description
A good quality, 19th century, beechwood breadboard with a nicely carved border. This is carved with “Speed the Plough” in a gothic script and it dates from c.1880. The remainder of the border is carved with ivy leaves, wheat and long, stylised leaves. There are knife marks to the face of the board, constant with use but otherwise it is in excellent condition and the wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 30cm. Depth 2.5cm.
