To the opposite end is a workman’s mark in the shape of a radiating sun. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. The very pleasing design consists of eight, dome topped, spiral columns. It is in very good condition and although there is slight wear to the tinning it is still good enough for occasional use.
