Item Description
A nineteenth century child’s plate transfer printed with “THE VILLAGE WEDDING”. This dates from c.1840. It is transfer printed, in black, with a scene showing a bride and groom outside a church and the verse:
“Hark how the Bells are ringing.
The fiddler plays right well.
The Johns and Molls are singing.
And all goes off right well”
The border is moulded with daisies which are coloured in green, red and blue enamels. There is a small chip on the rim but otherwise it is in good condition.
