Item Description
An early 19th century, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1820. There are also a couple of very indistinct, impressed workman’s marks. It is decorated, in white relief, with three different subjects which are divided by anthemion. One of these subjects is very unusual and appears to be a scene from Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream. The reliefs are deep and very detailed, as one would expect of a piece from this period. The jasper is smooth and the dip colour is a good, rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 10cm. Height 12.5cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10
