Item Description
An eighteenth century, Wedgwood, engine turned, creamware vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1790. It is also impressed with the number “2” and a large “S”. It is very stylishly decorated with vertical reeding to the lower section and a diced pattern to the rim which are both engine turned on the potters wheel. There is a further, beaded band which is also engine turned. Between these patterns is a band of swags and bows which are relief moulded and applied later. There are a couple of shallow chips to the rim which can be seen in the images, but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Height 14cm. Diameter 10cm.
