Item Description
An unusual, 19th century, French copper sugar bowl with a flat base. Usually sugar bowls, which were used for caramelising sugar, have rounded bases but this, although not totally flat, is just slightly domed so it sits well on a table and would make an excellent, large fruit bowl. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper, has brass handles and a rolled rim, and it dates from c.1860. The copper has a slightly planished finish and the piece is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 36.4cm. Depth 15cm. Overall width including the handles 41.2cm Overall height including the handles 18.5cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £25.
