Item Description
A 19th century, French copper bain marie pan and cover. This has no manufacturers marks but the side of the pan is engraved with the initials “C.R” which would be the initials of a previous owner. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It dates from c.1870. There is a steel handle to the pan and an acorn shaped, brass finial to the lid. The pan and cover are both in very good condition and the interiors have been re-tinned so that it can be used. The lid is not a good fit, as it is slightly loose, but it is still fit for use.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 10.8cm. Depth of pan 11.8cm. Overall length of pan and handle 23.1cm.
