Item Description
A nineteenth century, French copper milking bucket. This is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. It has castellated seams around the base and up the side and there is a heavy, folding copper handle which is attached by very substantial, brass fittings. The interior is tinned, so originally the bucket was made for use with food and it is most likely that its’ original purpose would have been as a milking bucket. There is very minor denting to the copper but generally it is in very good condition. The tinning is slightly worn.
