Item Description
A huge, early nineteenth century, pink lustre jug. This is either English or Welsh and it dates from c.1820. It is decorated, in varying shades of pink lustre, with thatched cottages and a bridge to one side and a larger house in a landscape to the other. This style of decoration became known, generically, as the pink lustre house pattern, no matter what buildings were depicted, and it was produced in Staffordshire, Sunderland and Swansea. There is staining to the body of the pot, but there is no damage or restoration, and the lustre decoration is still in very good bright condition. It is rare to find a lustre jug of this size, especially in such good condition.
Dimensions: Height 28cm. Width 35cm. Diameter 25cm.
Price includes postage within the UK. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £25.
