Item Description
A pair of small, early 19th century creamware baskets and stands with gilt decoration. These are unmarked but they are English and they date from c.1820. Each basket and stand is moulded with a basket weave design and has an arcaded border. The borders are highlighted in gilt and there are different flowers or leaves painted in the centre of each piece. Both baskets have slight staining but are in good condition. One stand is in perfect condition but the other has a piece missing from the arcaded border. It is unusual to find creamware baskets in this small size.
Dimensions: Stands: Length 18.5cm. Width 15.5cm. Depth 2cm. Baskets: Length 17.2cm. Width 14cm. Depth 5.5cm. There are marginal differences in the sizes as they are hand thrown.
