Item Description
A pewter ice cream mould in the shape of half a gourd. This is marked, in the casting to the top of the mould, “HARTON LTD LONDON”. Harton and sons were pewterers in London from 1860 until 1890. To the interior of the base of the mould is a registered design kite mark which dates the registration of the design to the 22nd of July 1868 and it is also stamped with “NO 47” which would be a pattern number. The gourd is very naturalistically modelled and the mould is in very good condition. The interior is still in good, bright, usable condition and the exterior has a dark patina.
