Item Description
A rare creamware jelly mould in the shape of a swan. This is marked “Davenport” around an anchor and this lower case mark was only used from 1793 to 1810 so the mould dates from c.1800. For creamware it is relatively heavily potted but it was made as a utility item. It would turn out the full form of a swan and the moulding is well detailed. There are two firing cracks to the interior, which do detract from the look of the mould, but it would probably still turn out well. There is also a small chip on the foot rim and a couple of tiny chips to the rim.
Dimensions: Length 14cm. Width 8.2cm. Depth 6.5cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £10. Most of Western Europe add £5.
