Item Description
A very small, Minton pottery jelly mould in the shape of a cone. This is not marked Minton but it is incised with the numbers “34” over “3”. 34 is the Minton pattern number for this design, according to the 1848 pattern books, and 3 relates to the size in inches. There is also a ridge around the rim of the mould which is typical of the moulds produced by Minton. It dates from c.1840 and is in excellent condition. Moulds of this shape are very popular as the jellies produced from them have a fabulous wobble.
Dimensions: Diameter 7.5cm. Height 11.2cm.
