Item Description
A small, late 19th century, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip violeteer. This is marked with”WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1895. It is also impressed with a number “4”, which relates to its diameter in inches, and there is a workman’s mark in the form of two dashes. It is well potted and it is decorated, in white relief, with two classical scenes, one being the Three Graces. The pierced lid is decorated with acanthus leaves and small, stylised flowers. The reliefs are all good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. Both the bowl and lid are in excellent condition.
