Item Description
A two part butter mould in the shape of a swan. This mould is beautifully carved, in sycamore, and it dates from c.1860. The carving is very well, detailed and the mould would turn out the full form of a swan gliding on water which would be 6.8cm. long by 6.5cm. high. There is very slight cracking to the wood, where it has dried out over the years, but otherwise it is in excellent condition and it still has its’ original wooden pegs to locate the two parts together.
