Item Description

An unusual, two part copper mould for sugar, ice or chocolate. This would have been used to form the top of a comport with fluting to the underside and a rope twist rim to the top. Both parts are marked “DEPOSE” over “T”, meaning  that this was a registered design. It is French and it dates from c.1870. There is slight pitting to the copper which is most likely from where it was used with ice. The tinning to the interior is grey but it is still in usable condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 18.6cm. Height  5cm.
