Item Description
A good quality, 19th century, Wedgwood, three colour jasperware biscuit barrel. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1860. It is also impressed with a letter “L” which would be the workman’s mark. The white jasper body is dipped in a dark blue, matt glaze and this is then decorated in white and yellow relief with vertical bands of trellis and classical scrolls. Above this is a horizontal band of diamond shapes in white relief. This is both an unusual decoration and colour combination. The lid, rim and handle are silver plated and the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height to top of finial on lid 16cm. Diameter 15cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
