Item Description
A vintage, French copper potato or vegetable steamer. This shape of steamer is still made by Mauvielle but with a different form to the handles and finial. This example probably dates from c.1950. The design allows the water to build quickly in the small, rounded base and the potatoes or vegetables sit on the trivet just above the water. The angular top allows the steam to circulate within the pot. This is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it is in excellent condition. The tinning, to the interior, is still in good, usable condition.
