Item Description
A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip, circular trinket box. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1850. It also has an impressed “X” which would be the workman’s mark. The lid is decorated, in white relief, with Pegasus, the winged horse, and this is surrounded by a border of roses. The box is decorated with four different scenes including The Three Graces and these are divided by anthemion. The piece is in very good condition but there is some staining to the interior. The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a deep shade of blue.
Dimensions: Diameter 7.1cm. Height 5.2cm.
