Item Description

A dark green, Wedgwood jasper dip jug. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1910. It is also impressed with a number ”36”, which would be the batch number, and the letters “T” and “W”. This dark shade of green is known as Dysart green after the Earl of Dysart for whom it was first developed. Due to problems in the production, with the deep green matt glaze bleeding into the white relief, it was only produced from 1906 to 1912. The commemorative jug is decorated with a portrait of George Washington to one side and ***** to the other. To the rim is a border of grapes and vines. The reliefs are all very good quality and the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 11.8cm. Length 9.4cm. Width 7.2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £12.
