Item Description
This darling little carpenter's trunk is just absolutely charming - the weathered old faux bois paintwork has worn away across the top to reveal the pine underneath which has a beautiful deep colour and warm glow. On the front is painted the date - 1840 - and the box still has the original tray inside, making this rather useful storage as well as rather lovely-looking! The interior is nice and clean - possibly worth lining if you were to use for long term storage. There is a small amout of woodworm damage on the top which is shown in the pictures - it's in a very contained space, long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution.
