A Most Handsome Art Deco Oak Bureau Bookcase C1930

A rather gorgeous Art Deco bookcase bureau in solid English oak C1930 and very likely a commission piece - we’ve not seen one like this before.

This one has not just been expertly crafted with a sense of usefulness but it's also incredibly stylish with its deco hints - those legs are just absolutely marvellous the best we have seen for a long while, the little deco inspired escutcheons are a treat, the deco shaped molding to the bookcase door perfect and the overall look is spot on.

Condition is good - we have the original grained chocolate brown leather writing inset to the inside alongside some useful little pigeon holes, we have 3 working locks with two keys, adjustable shelves to the bookcase, a useful little lower cupboard with drawer above and overall its been loved and cherished only showing sensible historic wear - nothing nasty or off putting. Heavy for its scale!
