1930s Art Deco Extending Dining Table by Gomme
Tremendous looking Art Deco oak dining table by English maker Gomme (label attached). This was the era when Gomme employed designers who were given the opportunity to design very good Art Deco furniture exploring and taking ideas from French pieces. The last one sold by us by Gomme was used as a desk.
This one sits well on those great oversized round balls of solid oak and with the attractive large fan motif to the sides - still with some of the original gilding in situ. On the practical side it seats 4 with ease and extends with two leaves “hidden” under the top for extra seating.
Condition is good with some marks and wear to the top but nothing nasty. The base sits firm with again, sensible historic wear. We have ensured the table is ready for placing.
