Item Description
Sourced from the Shanxi province and dating back around 130 years, this remarkable Chinese desk embodies the finely balanced proportions and craftsmanship for which the region is known. Once used as an apothecary or workshop counter, its long frame features an extensive arrangement of small drawers and cupboards, each retaining its original iron cup handles and time-worn patina.
The surface and drawer fronts show beautifully aged textures that speak to decades of practical use, while the generous scale makes it a striking focal point for contemporary interiors. Whether styled as a statement console, a unique workspace, or a characterful storage piece, this desk brings together history, utility, and understated architectural presence.
