Item Description
A 1960’s folk art scratch built model of a Dive Bomber fairground ride. Possibly made for a toy shop window. Naive decoration and construction. It has used an updated rocket theme to capture the excitement of the ‘Space Race” between the USA and the USSR. The space race combined the super nova charisma of JFK, the flash bulb glamour of Marilyn Monroe and the thrill of the voyage into the unknown with no return for some.
In good vintage working order, the spinning arm is chain driven using a 12v windscreen wiper motor. I have run the model using a 12v battery charger.
The model is 88cm high x 65cm wide x 51cm deep
