Item Description

Matching with Five Colors of the Floating World: White
(Ukiyo goshoku awase: Shiro)
A half-length portrait of a beauty seated before a kyodai (dressing table) holding a mirror behind her head in order to carefully apply white make-up to the nape of her neck. Her open robe reveals the curves of her breasts and the detail in the mirror held aloft (printed slightly blue to emphasize the reflection), focuses attention on the erogenous zone of her neck.
This print has recently been re-mounted.
