Pretty C19th Sunderland lustre jug

Depicting two scenes-

Side 1.

A Transfer print of the 'Farmer's Arms' motif, the design typically includes architectural symbols, a beehive, a plough and farming tools 

Side 2.

'Success to the Farmer, and prosper his plough

Rewarding his ardent toil, all the year through

Seed time and harvest he ever shall get,

He's trusted all to providence and so may he yet'

Transfer printed and coloured, with a deep band of pink lustre around the top and painted decoration over a creamware body

Probably by Dixon & Co Sunderland 

No cracks but a stain behind the handle, images 5 & 6, tiny chip under rim, image 5 near spout

Dimensions: Height 11.5cm, Diameter at base 9.5cm, width at handle 16cm
