Breathing life (and irreverent fun) into repurposed vintage frames, fabrics and ephemera and adding a sprinkle of fairy dust, I create completely sustainable magic for your home.
I am Mads, a lifelong magpie, with a passion for vintage and antique crumbling frames, beautiful fabrics and ancient papers. I sit and stare at my hauls for a while, imagining walls they have previously adorned, windows or sofas they have covered, dresses that have been worn, documents that have been signed....and create new pieces of art for the eclectic home.
I work from home, and, when not out wandering the Jurassic coast, I can be found at the kitchen table in my truly vintage cottage, busy creating.
Every single piece is therefore completely unique - although the sentiment can be replicated, no two frames are identical.
I don’t have a physical shop. I have a regularly updated online shop – www.gerty.co.uk. I pop up occasionally at events in the UK – see my regularly updated events page https://www.gerty.co.uk/events
Instagram is my main social media @gertyswords
Sustainability is at the core of my postage, packaging and delivery policy.
Packaging:
I have chosen to use, wherever possible, recycled cardboard boxes with shredded cardboard and fabric off cuts to ensure safe passage as much as possible.
UK postage:
Currently I use InPost for delivery which takes 3-4 days to home addresses in the UK, is affordable, has good reviews and, most importantly, an impressive sustainable strategy. Here in rural Dorset we are well served by their locker systems.
There is a flat rate postage of £4 for the UK which is free for all purchases over £100.
European postage:
Sadly, due to the recent Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) launched on August 12th 2026, whereby even as a very small business I need to register with national EPR scheme in each EU member country and report packaging data - I no longer ship to the EU.
Worldwide postage:
Elsewhere in the world, please send me an email for a shipping quote.
