Item Description
A beautiful Arts & Crafts pewter spoon dating to around 1905. This design has a Celtic Revival feel and is called 'Celtic Arrow'. It is usually attributed to Archibald Knox during the period he was lead designer for Liberty. The spoon has beautiful fluid lines and slight texturing to the bowl. It is unmarked.
It is in good condition apart from a very slight bend to the stem and a small rubbed patch to the back of the bowl.
Archibald Knox (1864-1933) was a hugely influential Manx/Scottish designer, with works that bridged Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Modernism. He was a prolific artist, producing designs for utilitarian and decorative pieces. He is best known as the leading designer for the luxury London department store, Liberty.
