Item Description

A pair of antique silvered / mirrored glass light shade made by Gecoray . They are angled and retain their original aluminium galleries.One has a slightly different gallery which is stamped gecoray and one has a Gecoray label on the shade. English 1920s/30s. These were made primarily as high quality shop / window display lights. The glass shades are silvered on the outside, then copper plated and finally painted to give long term protection to the silvering. Inevitably over a long time they can tarnish to varying degrees usually in a pleasing way.These are pretty bright .It is stable (no flaking). Rewired with a cord gripped nickel plated lampholder (British made) and 1.25 meters of light grey/white fabric flex) Dimensions in inches/cms; 9"/23 cms tall approx 9"/22.5cms wide by 9"/22.5cms deep ( 9.5"/24cms max on the diagonal) I have other antique mirrored light shades available including some unusual STRAND ones.
