A good Antique African Makonde tribal stool, late 19th / early 20th century, carved from one piece of timber, with dished top and on triform base, with excellent original patination.
The Makonde People are an ethnic group found in Tanzania, Mozambique and to a lesser extent Kenya. They are known for their carving of household items, figures and masks for ritual use.
